Parent communication is key to a successful classroom and effective connections between home and school.  This year, I put my blogging abilities to good use!  My teaching partner and I use Blogger to host a free classroom blog.

Each day, we share a quick post telling both our students and parents what the daily homework will be for that evening as well as any reminders or announcements.  We have the students access the blog prior to packing up each day. Since I have a flipped classroom, my students must download their math video before leaving school.

On back to school night, we took time to subscribe each of our parents to the blog via email. Each day at 3:30 PM, they receive an email copy of our blog post. Many of our parents comment on how they enjoy knowing what their child’s homework is before they even leave work.
