Hi! I'm Amanda Wilp, author of The Primary Gal. I teach fifth-grade, and have a nerdy passion for differentiation. I love to integrate technology. I am licensed in special education and am servicing our special education students while also teaching fifth-grade, general education. It is hectic, but I love it!

Mean, Median, and Mode: An Activity Your Students Will Love
This past week, my kids and I have been dividing into the data world! By Friday afternoon, we were ready to practice finding the mean, median, mode, and range of various data sets.
I "popped" a bowl of popcorn for each group of students, and handed them a recording page. The recording page required the students to grab a few pieces of popcorn from the bowl and find the mean, median, mode, and range of their data set.
This student "popped" a set of data with five numbers. She ordered them from least to greatest, and is now working on finding the mean, median, mode, and range of her data set.
You can grab this fun activity for FREE by clicking the image above! There are ten pages of random numbers between 20 and 99. I copied one set on yellow paper and a second set on white paper. Then, I cut and crumbled! :)
